Hello all, my newly acquired 1927 Super ELTO model “J” is in need of a proper carb needle knob. Anyone have a good photo of the carburetor/ mixer needle valve knob/ handle? .. so I’ll know what I’m hunting for.
Thank you, just what I needed. I’ll fabricate a “near” original. Now one more question… as I look closer at this motor, I seem to be missing a cap or plug at the nose of the gear case, there is a 15/16″ diameter hole and I can see the bronze bearing down in there. No threads in the hole, so I’m guessing only a cosmetic cap or plug not some kind of thrust bearing adjustment screw.
There are many Elto’s with what you have described but a Ruddertwin should have the arrangement in the last picture. I’ve only had a couple and I’m far from an authority on these. Could you post pictures? Tubs
Tubs, you did it again, you get the cigar. Thank you. My 1927 Super ELTO model J, will take the nose plug like the first two photos. The plug that you show , is that factory or did you make it? I’ll be heading to the lathe tomorrow.
My machining equipment (and skills) are limited to a bench top drill press and a 3″ air sander. I picked it up somewhere. When and where has long since been forgotten, although it could have been last week. Tubs
