Hello All!

Well I’m finally well enough to be working on my motors again, so my short-term goal is to finish restoring my ’48 TD20. Runs really well in a barrel without a mechanical rebuild, so we’re finishing up on what I consider to be a really solid cosmetic restoration. Everything has been media blasted, the fuel tank was completely body worked and new decals applied and of course the ignition 100% gone through and refreshed. I was never able to stop water intrusion into the lower 100%, but I guess that is just how it will be…

My questions(s):

Was the carburetor on this motor originally the Sea Mist green? If so, 100% (including the air stack?) or not? What about the attachment hardware?

How about the exposed copper fuel/water lines?  Left alone, or painted green? The two motors I have were both painted, but they are my only hands-on experience so I’m not completely sure.

What would be an original color for the prop? I’ve seen green and white both.

Does anyone know someone who can give my prop(s) a bit of help? I would like them to look better, they all have small dents, small chunks missing, etc. “They show their age”!

Any help is much appreciated!  I’m starting reassembly this weekend for those parts that are already painted.  Once everything is together I will do my touchup and then clear everything at least twice.
