      Howdy, Boys:

There s a brass (or bronze) bushing pressed into the hole where the “adjustment lever & shaft assy.” (in other words the shift handle shaft, upper starboard side) goes through the midsection/exhaust housing) on my 1984 31.8 cubic inch 35.  I want to replace it with a new one because my shift lever is getting “floppy” from wear to this bushing.  I have looked in parts diagrams from 1977 to 2005, and none I see show this bushing.  Does anyone know of a parts source for this piece, or is it something I am going to have to make?  Thanks as always.

I would assume the bushing is cast in place and not intended to be replaceable. That would mean make your own.
