        “5” means 5 Horsepower
        “D” means Deluxe
“15” Means it was built in 1958 Note: The model number changes whenever an Engineering change came about. It does not directly indicate the year the change was made. You have to go to the charts to find the year bult. Example: 5D12, 5D13, and 5D14 were all made in 1956 & 1957. 5D16 was built in 1959.
“B” means it was branded “Buccaneer” and sold by Independant dealers. “G” meant it was Branded “Sea Bee” and sold by Goodyear Tire & Rubber. Gale also made motors for others, such as Atlas Tire “A” (Atlas Royal). Back to the charts again.

Thanks for the great information, Frank. Where can I obtain a copy of the charts to which you refer in your reply. Neither my service manual nor my owner/parts manual makes reference to the meaning the the Model number info that you provided. Thanks again for your assistance
