I repair motors for the people in my area and do several dual line tank to single line tanks on older OMC motors. I bought 6 of these pumps from 2 different venders on line thinking I was getting a bargain. They were only 11.00 dollars apiece. After the first one was used the guy brought his motor back and said it would die unexpectedly while at wide open throttle. After trying all 6 pumps the problem remained. I put on a genuine Mikuni and it ran perfectly. These pumps have no name on them and are completely junk. I guess you get what you pay for or in this case, much less than you pay for. Take an old fools advice and stick to good name brand parts.

Just a diaphragm just like the real Mikuni DF-44 pumps, but the diaphragm seems really stiff.

They use something like fiber reeds for checks. The cheap ones use a clear plastic diaphragm/reed material. The mikuni ones use a woven fiber material, kinda amber in color.

Those df44 pumps are the way to go.

Has anyone had problems with the lawnmower style ones? They are rated up to about 25HP. I’ve used them with success but my sample size is pretty small.

I have used lots of those Ron. I find they fit better in the smaller hp motors.

I figured the one on my lawn mower lasted over 10 yrs they must be OK. I assume they are made in China as well.

I’m using one on a 12hp Sea King and so far so good. (It came off of a 22hp B&S)

I have used a Briggs Stratton version (stamped Mikuni… oddly enough) paid $23 CDN and it works fine … see pictures
made a triangular bracket with one 90 degree leg bolted on the transverse bar behind the engine .

Sorry to hear that. I just bought a couple of the no name mikuni’s also for $11. Have not installed them yet. I have used the black plastic B&S pumps, they work good. I thought the mikuni’s would fit a smaller dia. fuel line.
