Are all hot glues alike? If not, what is the best for pulling on aluminum and brass? I have cleaned with alcohol and sanded with 320 grit to get a bite… nothing seems to work. Any advice here?

I do not think the glue can hold to the metal to allow you to pull the dents…

I weld Capacitor Discharge pins on to the metal. I then use a puller that attaches to said pin, and pops the dents out. That puts quite a bit of stress on the connection! NO way could glue hold here. Ive popped welds doing it. Probably bad welds, but welds none the less.

            What about the other stuff?

On an Aluminum Tank ? You have stated this
before. If you have discovered how to do this
please share your procedure. Photos would
also be of a lot of interest.

Bob, What are you attempting to glue to your tanks to pull the dent.

Sure Tubs Ill try to do that tomorrow.

The only problem is that I’m using a very expensive pin gun to do the welding, which isn’t really practical for the DIY’er. Not mine, but it belongs to the company I work for so I just borrow it when I need to.

I’m not real knowledgeable when It comes to welding, I can just do the basics, but im sure you could TIG weld these pins on even without this welding machine?

I’m using an online cheap car dent puller kit. Seems to work on cars and Honda gas tank… maybe hot glue sticks better to paint better than bare metal.

I have spent some time seeing if I could
come with a method to pull dents from
the outside. I like these roofing nails but
haven’t found the answer to getting them
to stick while still able to remove them
easily. I’ve tried super clue, hot glue,
solder of all kinds, that aluminum rod.
None stick good enough to pull a dent
except the aluminum rod. It sticks too
                        good.
