I noticed in an old outboard book that there were 15.2 hp
Sea Kings sold 1940 thru 1942. I didn’t know they made
Sea Kings that big early on.
I find no photos on the Internet, and little information on them.
IBoats calls it a "Giant Twin".
I only found one video on YouTube of one, but it was going
full bore, and one really couldn’t see what it looked like.

September 15, 2017 at 2:51 am #64903They used many Elto Sr. parts to build that motor. The muffler is unlike any other motor. From the front it looks similar to a 6039 Speeditwin. I have one but have not run it yet. I hear they are great motors

(should also be in the inner sanctum, but I can’t seem to log in at the moment)My notes say:
* magneto, flywheel, carb from Speeditwin
* cyl from Elto Sr Speedster
* pistons, rods from Speedifour
* LU, clamp bracket from Sportfour
* crankshaft rotary valve
* square tank

I believe it was the same as the Evinrude model 9039 Heavy Duty
Twin. With a 2-1/2" bore and 2-1/2" stroke it it a 24.6 cubic inch
piston displacement. It’s rated at 15.2 horse power @ 4,000 RPM and
weighs 100 pounds. (The Speeditwin weighed 105) The 2-1/2 gallon
tank was the same as used on the Speeditwin and the Commercial Heavy
Duty Lightfour Imperial. It is essentially half of a Speedifour
with a smaller gearcase. About the same size and weight as the
Sportfour imperial.This image from Doug Penn’s web site:

I have a Johson LT-38 apart, where’s the rule book? 😕

May 14, 2024 at 2:55 pm #287800To those who might still be looking at this post, I have one of these motors: 1940-1942 Sea King 15.2hp outboard engine. I would upload a photo of it but my photos are too big for this software system to support them. I live in Eugene, Oregon and if interested I would be willing to sell this engine. It does work, it has good compression and spark on both cylinders but it does not run smoothly and probably needs to work done to it by a more skilled outboard enthusiast other than myself.
