mod. 369-5823-0 ser 24828 Picked it up yesterday at the flee market and figured I’d take a chance. First pull of the starter broke the spring. (No, I didn’t try to pull too far) Luckily I have a Tanaka parts motor in the shed with the same starter. Got it to run a few seconds on a shot of 32:1, so worth the $20 I spent, but I have a couple questions. Can anyone tell me the proper ratio? How about the model year? Sears has the parts list and diagrams, but that’s it. Any help appreciated.

If you have too many, AND not enough, you're a collector.

Not sure of the exact ratio, but think 32:1 officially. I run mine at24:1.

I do run air cooled oil in the air cooled motors, not tcw3

The book recommends 50:1, says it should be TC-W. 90-wt outboard gear lubricant for the gear case.
