      does anybody know the original color of the 1920s Johnson cast-iron stands or does anybody have a picture of the original color? 🙄

            Beautiful original stand Syd, The one I have doesn’t have the flat metal sign and it’s painted Silver, thank you for posting this pictures 😉

                hi.they did use the stand for quite a few years.The signs change.I seen one orgional 1928 photo and I have 1935 accessory book with the same stand.Now I have seen some stands that were silver,I believe those were later.I estimate the one in photo 1928 or 1927.Nice piece.There were some varribles with that stand.One has a square upright,which is pictured here.and other one is round upright.These were dealer stands not intended for the public. hope this helps.If it was mine I would do the silver if it was mine.But im a purest.You can paint it what u want,no harm,no foul.jon koranda(Johnson under 10hp special group leader)

                    To Chris P. Is your stand made of aluminum? Also you added the height? If so, good for XRL-55. LOL
