I checked my 1926 Super G and it has the 824-6 bracket. Maybe that will help you find a trade?
January 2, 2017 at 10:58 pm #50182I had a visit from Chris P today. We compared steering yokes and then tore down my Ruddertwin. The problem is definitely with the mount and not the yoke. I took the spare mount and built up the edges with duraweld aluminium welding rod. I’ll shape it tomorrow when it’s cooled and see if that will work instead of modifying the yoke. Hopefully it will work until I can find a replacement mount. If I can’t find a replacement I’ll cast one. It would be super easy to make. I’ll keep you posted.

January 2, 2017 at 11:17 pm #50185Hi Guys,
Happy New Year.Wbeaton the tiller yoke you have with the pullies and the mounting bracket with the two holes would be for the model G & J measures 7".
Model A’s & earlier ( solid rudder ) no pullies mounting bracket 4 holes measures around 3"
Model C no pullies mounting bracket 4 holes measures around 7".
Model D no pullies mounting bracket 4 holes measures 10".
Model G & J has pullies mounting bracket 2 holes measures around 7".
Model K has pullies mounting bracket 2 holes measures around 10".
There was also a hollow rudder conversion kit that was offered to switch your solid rudder motor over to a hollow rudder cooling system.
That has no pullies mounting bracket 4 holes measures around 5".Measurements were taken from the Ruddertwins I have in my collection.

Based on the initial photo he posted it looks to be from a Model G or J having 2 mounting holes with pullies.
I believe the Model C should have 4 mounting holes without pullies.Based on the ones I have in my collection.

I think Tub’s is asking about the small mounting bracket that connects the yoke to the midsection as seen in the photos above. My Model C came with a four hole mounting bracket, which is 1/2" higher than the four hole bracket on Tub’s Model C. You can see the difference between them in the photos he posted. The two hole bracket in the photo I posted came with the replacement steering yoke and is not original to my motor.
On a side note, I wonder if I have the wrong prop. I notice that the prop will contact the rudder if its turned too far. Is this normal? The prop nut and prop look correct to me.

A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
