It’s great to see so many posts about ELTO Speedsters recently. To me they are one of the most important outboards of the era. As a result of all the Speedster talk I was inspired to tear down two 1928 Speedster 7 hp motors this week. I had previously rebuilt an ELTO coil and put it on the shelf so this was a quick project. This was also my first Speedster project. I got it running tonight. I can’t wait to try it out on the boat later this week.

May 22, 2018 at 1:27 am #76533Don’t blame you – a full resto on that motor would result in something way too nice to use again. Fixing the tank dents and a new decal will make it look great and still usable.
