Hi All, I am in the process of rebuilding, and was wondering what a good plug would be to use with todays fuel and oils.
Champion chart calls for a O Com, motor came with the hotter 6 Com’s. Would like to get some feedback from current owners.
      Thanks,
      Bob D

        I’m using NGK AB-7 plugs as a substitute for D-9 (509) Champions.

Stay in touch as I’d like to see how your ’29 runs. I have both the ’28 and ’29 versions and the ’28 w/out underwater exhaust is a good runner. My ’29 runs well also.

        Regards,

        George

              Richard,

I’ve had poor luck with the D-9s (509) in some of my bigger engines and several of my fellow Fl Ch. members feel the same. Steve Wood put new Champions in a Speeditwin this past weekend at the Suwannee meet and it wouldn’t go—-put in the old plugs and off it went. I don’t know. I cruise my ’48 Speedifour a lot and can’t afford problems. I must say though that I have some D-9s in other motors and have had no problems! Maybe it is just me???

Yes Richard they are cool looking. I think that the exhaust is one of the most beautiful ever made!
