I had come across this motor sale and in the end we purchased everything there was over 100 outboards and probably two parts for every part there but in the mist there was a 1932 Johnson model OK – 60 does anybody know really anything on these I’ve been running 16/1 to keep it safe timing does not like to retard but it runs like it’s new and everything seems to be there
That motor requires a bity more oil in the gas, 3/4 pint per gallon instead of 1/2 pint. Does your opposed twin have the tapered exhaust pipe coming off the muffler? I have a few Canadian built OK motors, including the OK-60 model but can’t remember as it’s in storage.
Indeed it dose it tapers down to a slot in the lower unit I think there’s about 8 to 10 holes about halfway in that pipe and thank you for the oil mix info for this motor is hard to come by
The OK motors didn’t change much over the years except for props and removable cylinders heads on the OK-20 models. Here’s a parts manual for your viewing pleasure.
Thank you so much this website is a lifesaver I joined today for help and I’m very pleased you will here from me a lot I am hoping to start a antique outboard Business with what I have here
It is dark right now so I will get some tomorrow and I need to figure out the two megabit Max file size for the pictures but I got a little bit of everything we went to a boat motor sale and turns out the original owner used to race hydroplanes with antique motors there’s Evinrude‘s Johnson’s champions sea Kings Montgomery wards fire stone Gaels and that’s not even the parts all kinds of mercury lower units lower units for Johnsons an Evinrude’s fly wheels steering wheels for boats pulleys for the steering system carburetors gas tanks solid state and external I even got one of his hydroplanes with a Mercury Mark 20 all it needs is the fuel plug which apparently is extremely hard to find and expensive But mainly repair and a little bit of restoration
