I finally took the subject motor, that I got in Tomahawk in 2018,
off the rack today and tore into it.

I was told before that these were just like the Elto Handitwins,
but I can’t find any photos or ads of a Handitwin the same year,
to tell if they have the “hammer head” shark protuberance on the front
of the transom mount like my Viking.
Anyone have photos of the 36 – 37 Elto Handitwin?
      Thanks.

I believe the Handitwin is 2.75 hp, smaller bore. Your motor is more like the Elto Lightweight or the equivalent Sea King and Evinrude of the early 30’s.

Thanks Tom, I guess the Handitwin is “out”. I’ll measure the bore tomorrow, but guessing
          it’s close to 2″.

In my dubiously documented spreadsheet of OMC engines, the Sea-King 4hp of the 30’s is in the same column with a whole bunch of Evinrude/Elto models: https://www.ultimate.com/phil/boat/omcyears.html

Hover your mouse pointer over a hp number to see the model name.

Phil, WOW, that’s a fabulous spreadsheet!
I whittled down my parameters, and it looks
like my bore will be 2″.

Also, I’ll look for Sea King models of the same year and see
              if I can find a Viking “look-a-like”!
              Thanks!
