I have a 1938 Elto Pal that has been completely taken apart due to a young relative thinking it should be painted red. Done while I was serving in the Army. Brother tried to have it cleaned up before I got back home and the shop he took it to, took it all apart and sand blasted it clean of paint and couldn’t remember how to put it back together. All the pieces are there and I am sure some gaskets may have to be made. What I am looking for is someone or place as close as possible to where I live, who can re-assemble my motor to a running state. It did run perfect before I left. Naturally I would pay for the service. I live in the West central part of Iowa and I see that the club has a Hawkeye Chapter in Marion, Ia. but I haven’t found any contact info. If someone would be willing to put me in touch with a person or a place that would put my motor back together, endless thanks and appreciation would be in order

Maybe you can find someone nearby that could help you and show you what to do so that you will learn about your motor and make a new friend. I would but I am out in NY State. That said the first thing that will have to be done is to make sure the sand is out of everything and I mean everything then oil or spray it with something to keep it from rusting. Good luck

You might try Bob’s Small Engine Repair in Marion, IA. He used to repair old outboards.
