I have 2 Leather Sheets, one 3-4 OZ (about 1/16″ thick) and one 5-6 OZ (about 3/32″ thick) and a set of hole punches (eBay – Harbor Freight) for making replacement seals for my early motors that have them. The first link is to sheets like I have but they have gone up in price quite a bit since I bought mine. I would consider looking into scraps if I run out of what I have.
Hello dodger and welcome! I too use leather and hole punches to make seals for any of the older kickers that use corn head grease or it’s equivalent. An old belt or dog collar will work. I put some gasket sealer on the case side when I install one of these seals. Some old motors don’t have any type of seal.
