So it’s an S1E after all. SN 15700
So question is synchronized carb/magneto or not?
May 23, 2022 at 6:46 pm #260394According to my list, a S1E is a 1939 Standard Single.
By the looks of your carb, I would say it’s not syncronized to the mag plate.

I agree from what I’ve seen in pics etc so I just need a start pulley/flywheel cover to see if this thing will run
Thanks for all the help everyone
May 23, 2022 at 11:01 pm #260402Indeed, an S1E does not have a synchronized carb.
May 24, 2022 at 12:05 am #260403Contrary to my previous post when it was initially thought you had a B1F, if you find the ignition coil is bad, it may not be possible to easily find a replacement coil for your S1E. The S1E was equipped with an Eisemann 61E magneto and a replacement Eisemann coil is pretty rare. However, others here on the forum may be able to offer some ideas for a substitute coil that could work.

Bob, It appears to have a pretty strong spark. I’m cleaning the carb now and just need to figure out a way to replace the start plate and see if it runs. Once it’s running the next need will be tiller. Stay tuned
Before I forget, the tank is removed and it appears something needs to be removed in order to get the tank back on or is there a trick to getting it installed? I plan on pull some of it apart just to make sure everything else is there and functional but it seems like I need to either pull the flywheel to install it from the top or remove the powerhead from the lower unit to install it from the bottom. Any hints ?
Thanks
