Are all 1940 K1 Mercurys Montgomery Ward or are their ones branded Mercury?

November 20, 2019 at 5:56 pm #187617In 1940 Kiekhaefer Corporation made Sea King single marked
04 K1 model 8820 (stamped into steel clamp assembly) Mercury K1
(stamped into aluminum rope plate) and Wizard WB2 (stamped
into aluminum rope plate)
In 1941 id tag were riveted to leg and rope plate only displayed
brand and company names.
A few years ago at Suter meet a member had a rotating rack with
the 1940 Sea King 8820, Wizard WB2 and Mercury K1. The fellow
said there were easy to restore, but, not very useful.
