Anyone try an OMC Universal Coil swap on these K series motors?

It looks like there’d be a lot of “whittling” on the laminates
to get the updated coils on, and I have no idea if the plug wire
could be oriented correctly.
Thought I’d ask before trying to reinvent the wheel.
Both the original coils have open secondary windings.
