Recently acquired a wartime POLR – they are rare on my side of the pond, and not having run it yet, wondered if there are specific operating instructions available either here amoungst the forum members, or out on the net? I believe the only differences are the carrying handle / rail and a longer shaft. I am unfamiliar with Vacturi carbs, as well, so any advice or knowledge given will be gratefully received.

January 8, 2016 at 10:55 pm #29839I have a parts manual for a PO-15 I can send you but I’m not sure if I have an owners manual. Let me look.

and because of the carrying handle / steering bar, they removed the underwater exhaust

January 10, 2016 at 3:14 pm #29935Thanks for all the replies – much appreciated – the vacturi diagram is very interesting indeed 😮 . Any operating instructions / owners manual copy for the P015 would be gratefully received, paid for if necessary.
January 10, 2016 at 6:35 pm #29947Originally the POLR 15 was delivered in a wooden chest containing everything needed to operate, service and maintain including operators and service manual. They were not expected to be used anywhere near a factory service dealer. Like a lot of other military equipment they were often disposed of where they happened to be at end of war. Some perhaps simply turned up in new hands no questions asked. POLR 15 is a nice find. When you have the manual check out the chest and contents illustration and list. Ask source of your POLR 15 about anything that may have been with the motor. Once you know what is missing you may be able to find them
even at this late date as the items were well made and too good to throw away.
Good Luck
LouisJanuary 11, 2016 at 10:57 am #29977Thanks. Post war was picked up without it’s chest, so I will just have to be very satisfied to be a custodian for a few years – the cover in the pics is some consolation. Over here, Storm Boat motors in original mil. spec are much more common, but no one wants to use such a behemoth. From what I know and can see the POLR has only been run sparingly, but looked after – I’d like to display it as it is (the leg was resprayed by the last owner) and run it at meets here, so would like to know enough before I do so.
