The 201876 seal is replaced by SKF 5523, and the 201917 seal is replaced by SKF 4770.

I may be able to help you with some of the parts that you are missing from leftovers from when I built mine. Send me a PM on here or send me an email to hughryan@isu.edu for the parts you need. They are good running little motors!

Here are some before and afters of mine:

Apologies for not replying sooner, I’ve been out of town. Thanks for the replies/info and the parts breakdown (already saved that!). I saw the green decals on eBay as well but questioned the accuracy.

Lower cowls and maybe some of the smaller hardware bits under the recoil is all I’m really lacking. Will need a new rubber handle for the rope.

I should mention that the sand castings were not all that accurate and the simplex starter housing has an extra large hole in the top so the spindle can be centered over the crankshaft, where ever that may be. A rod with a tapered tip (like the needle valve) is put through the hole in the 200565 spindle with the tip in the top dead center of the crankshaft. This is held in a vertical position while the 133141 nut is securely tightened. Then the rod is withdrawn and the 133157 acorn nut is installed to keep the spindle nut from turning and seal the hole. There was a special tool made the keep the spindle from turning while the nut was tightened. It was simply a block of metal with a hole through the center the same size as the one in the spindle, with a rod out the side and two tangs on the bottom to engage the screwdriver slot in the top of the spindle. Be sure the 41A192 washers are between the 43A204 equilizer and the 44A13 starter pawls. Pull the starter rope out a bit and let it retract as you place the starter assembly on the motor. This should retract the pawls and allow the housing to drop in place. Many starters have been ruined by just slapping the assembly on the motor without paying attention to these details and expecting everything to fall into place by simply tightening the screws. . . 😆

Yeah, those starters are real touchy. Parts are available from Dan Gano and Doug Penn.

I have a lot of the spare parts for that starter. PM me with what exactly you need.

They are a little touchy but if you pay attention and take your time installing it they go on with little fuss and work well. They used essentially the same starters on the sportwins, zephyrs, and lightfours of the same erra
