      How about drill and tap the crank. add a stud or bolt. just a thought. not going to race it.

        If I understand correctly, the part that is stuck in the crankshaft is hollow. If it snapped off before it bottomed, out there is a good chance you can remove it with an easy out. Then get a replacement for the one you broke.   

        A "Boathouse Repair" is one that done without having tools or the skills to do it properly.
