I have a 1948 Evinrude Sportwin and I need the Dzus fasteners that attach the lower cowls. Are they still available? The world of Dzus fasteners seems to be a very confusing one.

The number on my DZUS fasteners on the port side cover are number 1955740.
I had to replace one of mine, and found that style online at an aircraft parts
supply company. Unfortunately, I ordered the wrong length and had to
shorten them, but it worked great…….. now if I could just figure out
        why it doesn’t run!

The number you posted is the patent number. I tried that first.
I think I might take one to the airport (the same place I get my 100LL) and see if they can help.
Good luck getting yours running. what do you think the problem is?
          Thanks!

Galerider, I PM’d you regarding my Sportwin.
I found the link to the place I purchased the fasteners.
              It’s "Aircraft Spruce"
              http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/hapages/dzus.php

The Evinrude part number is 202206 – no longer available. When I inquired about buying a couple from the company, they said the first would include the cost of setting up the machine – $150 – the rest would be a couple bucks. I could get a better price if I bought 1000 … 😀
