Here’s a page with manuals for the Canadian Eaton’s store “Viking” versions:
https://www.richardlpaquette.ca/vikingmanuals.htm
The “Gale Products 1951-1963 Service Manu” is the factory manual that covers all models/years;
that seems to show 5D15 as a 1958 model, with a fuel pump and external fuel tank and forward/neutral/reverse gearshift.
The 5D14V manual at the above site shows the fuel pump was an option that year, and the engine block is the newer Gale variety
with a removable cylinder head (unlike the earlier “wedge” head models.
My understanding is that in Canada “Elto” was the equivalent of the Gale/Buccaneer brand;
It was the “generic” (in the sense of not carrying a “store brand” name) version, that could be
sold by hardware stores, or chains too small to have a “store brand”
The magneto should use standard OMC (Evinrude/Johnson) parts, and the tower/gears borrow from an older Johnson model.
I’m sure Frank R. can give you correct details!
