I’m ordering the decals pictured, as they look to be pretty close to what
my subject motor had, but they’re in such bad shape, I don’t have much
      to go on.

What I’m wondering is, what is the placement for Captain Buccaneer and his
twin brother Bob? I never found remnants of those jolly fellows.

Of course, if anyone has photos of an original said motor, showing decals,
that would be great. I haven’t had much luck searching.

Well Buccaneer I hope you find where your buccaneer buddy’s go.   That reminds me of a little fella that came knocking on my door on trick-er-treat night.  He was dressed as a pirate.   I divied out his loot and I ask him where his buccaneers were.   Without  missing a beat he looked at me and said,  “under my buck’en hat”!!!

thought you might want to know that

Dixie came up with some photos, so the mystery is solved as to where the pirates
                abode is.

Frank, I like that Gale line up! The 55 3 hp in your photo looks very close, at
least top side, to my 54 3 hp Buccaneer that was my grandfather’s, and that
I run to death back in the 70’s.

Dale, I hope you gave that kid a treat…… otherwise you’d be robbed and pillaged for sure!

                Dave, INFLATION IS HERE!

Do you happen to have or have access to a 1958 Gale Buccaneer Model 5D15B 5HP DeLuxe Owners Guide/Parts List

Closest thing I have regarding a parts manual, is one for a
1957 Gale made Viking, 5 hp, which is a tad too large to
                    attach it here.
If you want it, PM me your email and I can send it via WeTransfer
                    tomorrow.

Thanks for the reply, I was able to locate a copy of a 1958 Gale Buccaneer Model 5D15B 5HP Deluxe Owners Guide/Parts List on eBay and ordered it.  Will check it out after it arrives and will let you know if I need to take advantage of your offer of the ’57 Viking parts manual.  Thanks again for your help.

Since this is my first experience with a Gale motor, if I have questions do you mind if I contact you for advice?

You may ask, but there’s lots of knowledgeable people aboard,
and they’re a pretty simple motor, so there’s lots of help available.
