One half to five eighths will get it running. Dial it in at wide open throttle then reposition the knob on needle to point straight up. Also position primer lever to align with the knob.
i believe i’m missing the friction plate or something, the needle doesn’t seem to effect anything other than to move the throttle lever a little bit forward, not sure how the friction plate effect the rich/lean control, let me know if anyone has the friction plate adjustment they wanna sell
You’re over-thinking it. It’s all there. In fact, too much there. That gasket doesn’t belong there. The “needle” isn’t a needle, but just a screw that limits how far the throttle shutter closes at idle speed (ONLY). That affects how much air gets through and thereby also the fuel ratio.
Just dink around with it for best idle, remembering it has no effect unless the shutter is closed against the adjustment screw.
