Hello, I am looking for a carb float for a 1953 QD13. The float i have now is broke in half and is very brittle. Is there another float that would work in this motor or an aftermarket one that may work. I assume i could make one out of cork again but am worried it will not work correctly. Any advice is appreciated.

      Thanks Nick

What you need is OMC Part Number #375619.

This e-bay seller lists one in his inventory:

I did see that and emailed but i guess they are moving their shop currently. Said check back in a month or two.

I can’t take credit for this. Another member showed me how to do this. Take a new float, cut off the metal bracket and grind it flush with the float. Gently so as not to damage the float. Then attach the old bracket to the new float. I have a qd-12 and it worked great. No issues so far.

Tinman that is perfect. Do you have a model number for the float you used?

              Thanks Nick

Just an omc float. Seakaye 12 has got it pictured there. Just take it easy on removing the bracket. I broke a float the first time I tried.
