Hello,
Just come across a sale for 1954 10hp Johnson outboard with an original Johnson Mile Master gas tank.
The ad said”1954 10hp Johnson outboard. Original condition.Good compression running ,comes with good gas tank and fittings.Best offer” Asking for $350.00 Can.
What do you think if it is worth for that price? I know that the gas tank with this condition is hard to find.- This topic was modified 4 years ago by Evinrude 25.

January 14, 2021 at 3:55 pm #227708Not a true matched set as the tank decal is for ’57, not ’54.
January 14, 2021 at 5:19 pm #227710That might be a 1955. I believe a true 1954 would have silver trim not white.
Model # ? QD-?January 14, 2021 at 8:06 pm #227724Mumbles and oldlure are right. Another noticeable thing is that no connector, fuel line, or clamps are shown on the fuel tank. A “whole nine yards” tune up, carb kit, and waterpump will add significant cost if OEM parts are used. It’s important to find out what, if any parts have been put into the motor in recent years.
If the motor has quality new coils, points, condensers, waterpump, carb kit, fuel lines, etc., and the tank has new fuel line, connector, and clamps, then the set would be worth around $350.00 in my area. If nothing has been done service wise, then more like $200.00.

My QD-14 does.
Prepare to be boarded!
January 15, 2021 at 12:09 pm #227770It looks like a ’55 to me. I have a ’54 and a ’53. They both have the raised sea horse on the exhaust housing a ’55 does not. It is real easy to put a bunch of money in one of these! But IMHO they are some of the best running outboards ever made!

January 15, 2021 at 12:54 pm #227775I love the styles with the cowling flipping up from the front. The design always looks good to me. I don’t like the cowling of pre-1955 which flip from the side.
Just saw it for $100 in my area but not appeal to me.- This reply was modified 4 years ago by Evinrude 25.
