I’ve had the same problem with certain websites. If you were trying to direct him to the online service manual, I uploaded one and a condensed version good to download for a week at this link – https://we.tl/t-lrHeUotPNM

February 7, 2019 at 10:35 am #166241Thanks Guys. Something is seized up but I dont know if it’s the lower unit or the powerhead. I pulled the plugs and looked at the cylinder and pistons (what I could see) and it looked brand new. The whole motor is in great shape, I am surprised I cant get it moving.
I am going to pull the powerhead and determine if its that or the lower unit. Stay Tuned!!It’s such a great looking motor I really want to get this figured out.

February 7, 2019 at 5:39 pm #166280Have you drained the gearcase? Perhaps the gearcase is seized up, or the driveshaft shock spring has sprung binding up the gearcase….
February 9, 2019 at 8:36 pm #166477Not sure how to do that or how to investigate “driveshaft shock spring”. Guess I’ll have to read up.

February 10, 2019 at 1:20 am #166493That has a Nylon starter paul that may break. It is common for the clutch below the water pump to expand and cause the drive shaft to lock up. I don’t have the Johnson parts book but most Evinrude Fisherman / Fleetwin parts are interchangeable. I hope this helps . . .
