      I’ve got a ’57 Javelin…and looking to install a genny…well, someday. I’ve got a couple Evinrude brackets, but not the Johnson bracket for 1957. Are they (Evinrude/Johnson) the same castings with extra machining and ” front hood pin” installed for the Johnson? …or are there more differences?

        ’57 and ’58 are the same except for the hood mount pin on the Johnson. Exception: ’58 Super Sea Horse and ’58 Lark are different castings from previous models.

          Try to find a bracket from a STANDARD 57 or 58 Johnson.
