      Have trouble with plug wires rubbing flywheel. Noticed my 35 HP Rd-19 has a plate under the rope starter. Did the 18hp have one.?.not sure if they’re run right either…

        The 18hp does not have the wire guard found on the RD-19. Enclosed is a pic of my 57 Evinrude 18hp showing how I routed the plug wiring – your FD-12 would be similar.

            Nice Evinrude!!!..I have a fuel filter near the shift rod as well. I think I have them routed right now…wires were run outside that shift rod…
