      About to look at a 59 Sea King. What is the main differences between the Gale 5hp and Johnny 5.5? I know the Gale has a fuel pump, but is the power head carbs etc the same?

        Very similar but not 100% same. Main difference is the Sea King does not have a removable cylinder head or thermostat. Both are excellent motors.

          Another difference is the ’59 has the older style midsection that was previously used on Evinrude & Johnson. Nothing wrong with that, except be aware if you are buying parts.
