      hello. we just bought a house and found an outboard motor in the shed,from what i could find it’s a 1962 Gale Electric Buccaneer hp Model number 25DEL19B. I would like to know some more about it if anyone could help, From what I was told it does run but i’m not 100% on that.can get more pictures if need,thanks for any help in advance.

        I like those motors. They great runners and simple to service. They are based on the mid-late 50’s Johnson 25/30/35HP design. In the early 1960’s all of the Johnson and Evinrude motors had switched to a double walled lower unit for better silencing. These Gale engines stayed with the more basic and lighter design.

          US MEMBER PAY BY CHECK

          Good, simple and reliable motors. Most parts were used on Johnsons & Evinrudes, but not necessarily the same years. Do yourself a favor and get a parts book specific to your model. and then any Evinrude dealer can order parts for you if you give him he part number. Without the part number he probably won’t give you the time of day because he doesn’t have the book either.

          The fiberglass hood makes it a lot quieter then the old 3-piece metal cowlings were.

            Thanks for the help guys.I myself have no use for it,will most likely get rid of to.
