A friend of mine is looking at a boat with a 1967 merc 650. I checked for parts availability and found that points etc. are NLA.
The motor looks clean (in the pictures anyway) and owner says it runs. My concern is when the motor needs refreshed are there parts
to be found.

I am not familiar with these motors. Can anyone fill me in on this engine.

points are around. there are 2 types by changing the mounting plate you can use the other type of points. cleaning the points usually work om them. I have mags if needed or I repair yours.
