      The lower pilot shaft washer on my 6hp has broken and is pushed out in several spots. Do I only have to remove the egg shaped lower mount housings to remove and replace the washer? Thanks for any help.

        Yep! There’s enough flex in the upper mounts to allow you to pull the lower leg back far enough to allow clearance once the horseshoe (or egg as you called it) housing is off.

          Thanks for the info! I was hoping it would be relatively easy, and it sounds like it is.
