      Hello All,

      Please help..

This is my last ditch effort. I cannot find any info online and all the local boat shops begin stuttering when I start asking questions.

I have been given a barely used and garage kept 1984 river boat that has a 1984 Johnson 140hp jet. This baby has been winterized (gas drained and dry)and I would like to get this baby fired up without dragging it to the lake to work on getting it running.

Can someone tell me if this motor has a flush port. I have found some info that it is supposed to be on the left side of the lower. The only thing on the left side is a zerk fitting and a accordian boot looking device next to it. Other than that…there is nothing or any screws that would accept a flush fitting..

I can certainly provide the Serial Number if needed.

Well, I’m guessing the jet drive unit is an aftermarket add on piece. Perhaps you can post some pictures…

On their site it sounds like it isn’t VERY hard to switch back and forth between a regular lower unit and the jet attachment. Maybe you can find a "donor" motor? Is the jet a big plus for you?

Just looked on ePay. Whoa! All the initial hits for a LU were $300-400!!!

If you want bad enough just remove the jet unit. then put a hose on the water tube. you can run the motor.
