I have removed the stainless cavity for the impeller on Scotts & Firestones. It is glued in place. I used a propane torch to heat around the housing mostly on the aluminum. Not much heat but enough to get the sealer sticky & it will release. While there you might replace the driveshaft seal too. I had two cases machined so I could install one seal up & the other down, You know, Keep the water out & gear oil in.
