Hi again, my boat has the steering wheel, pulleys, cables, but I’m trying to figure out how to attach to the motor. I have the bracket, but where does the end of the cable attach to? The motor housing? Or back to the boat somewhere?

Yes there is an extra bracket in the picture, I’ll remove it and just use one.

      Thanks in advance.

Just for general information, the attachment currently on the motor (with black pulleys) is installed backwards and may break the front handle if tightened. It is supposed to be turned around fore & aft.

On the other hand, either attachment will work

            Here’s a diagram:

Best practice is to mount all sheaves (pulleys) and the end points through-bolted so they can’t pull out.

I seem to recall the Johnson manual says to only use a spring on one side (port?), but the Evinrude manuals seem less clear?
