I made up new lines for the Speeditwin today, as I noted the old
ones were all messed up from getting pinched at the power head
when rotated left and right, hitting the bolts that holds the swivel tube
cover on. It took me two tries to get the plumbing the right length
and not hit the bolts. I was thrilled when I tried it out and noted
I cleared the bolts aplenty. But then to my dismay, I realized the
power head was not hitting it’s stops when rotated either direction,
but rather stopping 1/2″ short of the stops when the tubing hits the
tilt pin bracket on either side. 🙁

I just looked at some Speeditwin ads (drawings) and the tubing
appears to be almost tight up against the drive shaft tube.
That might allow the tubing to not hit the tilt pin bracket, but don’t
see how that gives one clearance over the swivel cover bolts.

Anyone have actual photos of original or homemade tubing that
does not hit anywhere? I’d be very curious on how it looks
for when I have to re-do this one, lol.

Otherwise, it’s going back together nicely.

Thanks Tubs, maybe I’ll try to manipulate the line a little tomorrow!

Buc – good luck with the pipe routing fix. Great looking motor.

I think you can adjust the tiller arm bracket where the stops will keep the line from hitting mounting bracket .

I did adjust the bottom portion of the water line in a little today,
and it now hits the stop turning one way, and just shy the other way.
I put two little dents in the line, so I quit before things got worse
                  instead of better!
