      In fargo nd looking for guidance with my attempt to revive this motor. Have spark cleaned carbs compression appears strong. I think messed up timing. Any one have instructions please. Bill in fargo. 60ish cruiser Inc.

        Thanks for posting the pictures so we know what you have. There was a ’61 Starflite, AND a ’61 Starflite Unicharger. You have the one without Unicharger.

        There is a timing mark on the flywheel. There is also a timing mark on the recoil starter, with another directly below it on the block (water cover, I think) Rotate flywheel till all three are in line. There is a timing mark on the magneto belt pulley. When the flywheel marks are aligned, the belt pulley mark should be aligned with the button on the safety switch. If not, remove and reinstall the belt so it is.

            There were oil injection outboards? I thought that was only on the stern drives….

              Phil,
              Yes they are powerheads from a 1962 OMC dual Deluxe, I/O drives. The early ones were 88hp then went to 90’s. Never looked closely but I bet they would function using these blocks. That think was a tug boat, How many skiiers do you want to tow? Very hitech in it’s time. Now just a 62 Olds wagon.
