      Looking for a picture of original hardware for the muffler side shells. Would like to see what was used to cover the rather large hole the mounting bolt went through and threaded into the cylinder casting.

            When those are lost people just replaced  with long bolt and washer.My 72t has one of each.

              Yep, that’s what mine has. I would prefer to use something close to the original.  Stepped spacer with diameter mating to the shell would IMO would provide better support than a washer.

                If you would like to replace it with what was
                original you can get rod and one of the home
                improvement stores, cut it to length, and thread
                the ends. Or you can pick up some all thread,
                cut it to length, and nobody will be able to tell
                the difference.
