      Trying to help a friend with his boat inherited boat and Johnson 25e77 25hp that looks to have almost no hours on it last year put impeller and new fluid in lower unit started right up recently tried to start it fires right up ran about 2 sec then died has no spark. Never worked with anything this new where do I start on the ignition?

        Start by disabling the kill circuit by unplugging the big main cable, and see if you then have spark.

          Yeah, does this engine have remote electric starting? If so, do what Frank says, although the big plug might be colored black…

            If it’s a tiller model with pull start, undo the stop button from the plug. Also, check ground for the power pack, as that can cause an issue like you described due to vibration, etc.
