      Update!!!
It’s fixed and runs as it should!!
      I’m stoked!!
It was indeed the high speed jet.
Some one had replaced it with a larger one or maybe wallowed out the one in it. Whatever. I put a smaller jet in and bingo. 30-35 (?) mph top speed. Guesstimate.
Takes a little while to get there, but dang, I’m tickled to death!
Thank you all for all the suggestions and help.

That is really great! I have always said that the hardest thing to trouble shoot is something that another human mind has messed up!

You got that right…. You will never get the straight story either when you ask about what was done, and who did it….

I ran the motor again yesterday. Went through 3 gallons. Runs nice.
              I’m happy.
              But it gets extremely dirty.
It seems as if most of the exhaust (at least at lower speeds) is being discharged from two holes in the exhaust housing. They are down low and face the tilt lock spring and mechanism.
              Is this normal?

Geer and Frank, I was reading your posts concerning the water ports and it reminded me of this QD19 that has water coming out in a strange spot. Is this what you are talking about? See picture.

The old kicker runs real nice, the water doesn’t seam to be a problem. Does this 10hp need one of those spacer tubes?
