This is an Airguide Speedometer, and I am stumped of how it works. Can anyone tell me how it works? Thanks.

The speedometer is really a pressure gauge and the water pressure created when the boat moves forward pushes air up the tube.
Never seen a bronze pickup or copper plumbing before! I seem to recall that a fat section can be used as a kind of shock absorber.
The meter has a metal belows inside.
It works just like the airspeed indicator on a plane: Ram pressure against a forward-facing opening (pitot tube) is piped to what amounts to a pressure gauge.
How accurate would this Airguide be regarding actual MPH.
At the time were quite accurate.
