That’s a nice looking rig! Just move the crank and dolly forward on the tongue and the boat won’t over hang the trailer too much in the rear.
A friend of mine has an Alumacraft FD with a tiller steer 18hp 1957 Evinrude.
He get’s 27 mph out of it and the 18 runs like a dream.
$2k is double what the rig the OP is worth, IMO.
Should be able to get an FD and an 18hp for 2k.
Looks like a nice rig. Worth $500 or so in Minnesota.

Wish I was In Minnesota then! Things are high priced here! Lol Going to make him an offer. All he can say is no. See a lot of rich line boats around here. may have to go that route.
