I know we are an antique motor club but I have a boat question. I picked up an old aluminum Cherokee boat with no windshield and was wondering how one mounts a windshield here is a picture of my boat and the frame? Am I missing something

the windshield usually sits in a rubber gasket like this one

There are “hold downs” that connect to the windshield and go through the deck and are secured from underneath.

Often there are brackets at each end of the windshield that are further secured through the deck.
