December 4, 2021 at 3:35 pm #250672I buy it at NAPA Auto Parts in the US. We can’t buy it in Canada. Wear a respirator. It’ll tear out your lungs and you won’t realize until it’s too late

December 4, 2021 at 9:58 pm #250689I’ll have to go out and read the bottle but i did auto recon back in the early 90s and it reminded me of what we called ( wheel acid ) we used on aluminum wheels same smell probably not the best for your body
December 8, 2021 at 12:56 pm #250847Products like this acid-etch aluminum-oxide from the surface of aluminum. It forms much like rust (iron oxide) on steel, but it is non-porous so once there it protects against further oxidation forming. It’s the stuff that rubs off gray colored on your skin on old aluminum. When you are done etching and polishing, follow up with a protective coating to keep aluminum oxide from forming again. A good waterproof automotive wax applied occasionally will do. I’ve heard of clearcoat paint being sprayed on, but do your homework to be sure it’s compatible with aluminum.
Here is one product: https://www.wholesalemarine.com/toon-brite-protective-clear-coat-for-boats-35339.html

Phosphoric Acid, Sulfuric Acid, Ammonium Bifluoride (decomposes to Hydrofluoric Acid — HF). HF etches glass.
