Why would anyone want to live in that state? I heard they even banned WD40!
Time for a road trip to somewhere you can run that great little motor.
Good job on restoring it.Member of the MOB chapter.

October 4, 2023 at 3:50 pm #281317We still have WD40, but who knows for how long? Lol
I was raised here and tried to get out a few times but always had ties that kept me here. I have a small family remaining in Tennessee and would love to get back there. Maybe some day…

Before trying to figure out if both cylinders are firing, you need to properly assemble the components of the motor. There’s really no cutting corners with outboards. They let you know if something is not right.

Yes, comments already received and issue resolved. Additional video link posted showing it running pretty well. Fixed the leaking hard line today.

It might be common sense to some, but in my HASTE (yes, I admit it) to test, fix, retest, ask questions, etc. I left a few things undone. No excuses, but I did so because I had already assembled and tore it apart a few times, chasing minor issues. I just skipped a step, never even thinking about the need for the flywheel.
Like I’ve said before, I can build an old V8 blindfolded – but I’m brand new to outboards and 2-stroke motors/theory.
It did help immensely once I added it. That comment is also in the thread above.
