This is a teaching aid sitting in the basement of the engineering building at the University of Wisconsin. Thought it was kinda cool and relevant to our club. I’d love to see it f I could borrow it and bring it to Tomahawk this summer. Probably have to ransom my kids. Ha!

Very cool indeed. To my eyes, the gear case would give some indication of what major builder, if any, made it. But I don’t see any comparison to existing outboard gear cases. It, too, is interesting in its own right, because of the tear drop shape. Note that the leading edge of the case is bigger in diameter than the trailing edge. I don’t remember ever seeing anything like that. How did they get the guts into it?

              Long live American manufacturing!
