Friends it saddens us all to learn of yet another member of our AOMCI passing away. On Monday the 26th Jim Johnson passed. He was close to his 87th birthday and had just been out to eat with his wife. Jim raced back in the 1960’s and raised his 2 boys, Duke and Walt in hockey and boat racing. He had been a member of the AOMCI since back in the 1970’s and personally knew lots of the famous racers we all hold so dear. I would find trouble trying to come up with a name of someone who thought about boats and motors more than Jim Johnson. Jim had things he wanted to do, projects he wanted to seek advise from others racers about and was always working on something. I know he had lots of friends within the AOMCI and will be missed greatly. A checkered flag waives for Jim Johnson.

I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Jim Johnson. He was a wealth of information about the early racing days.

          Sincerely,
